From Nat K. to Estes Kefauver

Description:

Letter from "Nat K." to Senator Estes Kefauver regarding the senator's investigation into Kansas City organized crime. The focus of the investigation was interstate organized crime, and to that end, the letter writer suggests that the committee look into the Last Chance Saloon, a gambling establishment straddling the Missouri/Kansas state line, stating that the saloon's location "baffled law enforcing agencies of both states with the result that the place was able to run unhampered by police." Contacts in the Kansas City Police Department are also recommended.
