Letter from Mendell Myers to Ellison A. Neel, in response to Neel's "courageous remarks" published in the previous day's Kansas City Star. He writes that in his business travel, he has found that people all over the country "have the opinion that everyone in Kansas City is a crook" because any decent people would "do something about it," and adds that he "cannot understand how the business men and the right-thinking people of Kansas City can stand by and not offer their moral and financial assistance in crushing this every growing menace."
