From Oscar B. Elam to the Kansas City Public Library


Letter from Oscar B. Elam addressed to the librarian of the Kansas City Public Library offering copies of documents for the library's collection. He believes they are of interest to the public as he was the first citizen of Kansas City to demand a recall of the mayor and city council and circulate petitions to that end. Included are a copy of the April 24, 1939, recall petition, a second May 31, 1939, recall petition, an open letter to the mayor and city council, a petition against those parties, a notice of intention to file the petitition, and a copy of an address given by Elam to the Kansas City Charter Club.
